The Law Commission has asked the public and religious organizations to give their opinion regarding the making of Uniform Civil Code. The Commission’s notice is a decisive step in this direction. The Commission has said that within 30 days its opinion and suggestions should be made known. The suggestions can be given by email (membersecretary-lci@gov.in) or online on the link issued. According to the commission, the 21st Law Commission had sought suggestions on this politically sensitive issue on two occasions. Then more than 76 thousand suggestions had come. It’s about time now.
