Hero MotoCorp has launched the updated version of the Hero Xtreme 160R 2V in the Indian market on September 10. After the recent release of the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V’s 2024 model, the two-wheeler giant has now introduced the 2V variant with enhanced features and an attractive price point. The updated Xtreme 160R 2V is priced at ₹1.11 lakh (ex-showroom), making it ₹28,000 cheaper than its 4V counterpart.
This newly launched 160R 2V packs modern features like a drag race timer, single-channel ABS, tail-light design, and a single-piece seat. It aims to compete with popular bikes like the Bajaj Pulsar N150 (₹1.25 lakh) and Yamaha’s FZ series (₹1.17 lakh-₹1.30 lakh).

Design and Hardware
The Hero Xtreme 160R 2V is offered in a sleek black variant, focusing on a minimalist yet aggressive design. Hero has replaced the split seat with a more comfortable single-piece seat, improving the bike’s ergonomics for both short commutes and long rides.
At the front, the bike sports LED headlamps along with daytime running lights (DRLs) for enhanced visibility. The 2024 model also comes with a redesigned tail section featuring a modern tail light, adding to the bike’s sporty appeal. One notable upgrade is the inclusion of an emergency stop signal, which blinks when sudden braking is applied, providing extra safety on the road.
The instrument console of the bike now features a drag race timer, allowing riders to measure their speed and performance. The frame is a diamond-type structure, offering a perfect balance of strength and lightness. For suspension, the Xtreme 160R 2V is equipped with KYB inverted forks at the front and a 7-step preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear, enhancing ride quality and handling.
Braking, Wheels, and Dimensions
The braking system of the Xtreme 160R 2V includes a front disc brake with single-channel ABS, ensuring controlled stopping power. The rear is fitted with a drum brake, adding to the overall safety and reliability.
The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, with 100/80 tubeless tires at the front and 130/70 tubeless tires at the rear, offering a good grip and a smooth riding experience. The seat height stands at 795mm, making it accessible to riders of varying heights, while the fuel tank has a capacity of 12 liters. Weighing in at just 145 kg, the bike is easy to maneuver in city traffic.
Engine Specifications
Mechanically, the Hero Xtreme 160R 2V retains its robust 163.2cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine. This engine churns out 15hp at 8,500rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,500rpm, delivering a decent mix of power and fuel efficiency. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox, offering a smooth ride whether you’re cruising or pushing the bike to its limits.
The engine is OBD-2 compliant and can run on E20 fuel, making it future-proof and environment-friendly as it is compatible with fuel containing 20% ethanol blend.
