Honor Power Series Set to Debut on April 15 in China: Expected Specs, Battery, and Design Teased

Honor is preparing to expand its smartphone portfolio with the launch of a brand-new Power series in China. The tech brand has officially announced the debut date of the upcoming Honor Power handset, sparking interest among fans and tech enthusiasts. Slated to launch on April 15 at 7:30pm local time (5pm IST), the new series promises a balance of powerful performance and enduring battery life, based on the leaks and teaser images already doing rounds online.

Honor Power Launch Date and Teased Design

Honor took to Weibo to confirm the launch of the first device in the new Power lineup. Teasers hint at a sleek, lightweight phone with a thin profile, giving users a device that’s not only powerful but also easy to carry. The phone’s display features slim, uniform bezels and a centered pill-shaped cutout at the top—likely housing dual front-facing cameras or advanced sensors.

This new design language positions the Honor Power series as a modern and premium-looking device, potentially targeting mid-range users who prioritize both aesthetics and functionality.

Battery Beast: Up to 8,000mAh Expected

One of the major talking points surrounding the Honor Power handset is its massive battery. According to a Weibo post by the tipster Experience More (translated from Chinese), the phone will be equipped with a 7,800mAh battery. However, earlier reports suggested that Honor may be working on a phone with an even larger 8,000mAh battery—a rare find in mainstream smartphones.

Such a high-capacity battery would make the Honor Power series ideal for users who require extended usage—gamers, travelers, or anyone who’s often away from a charging point.

Performance: Snapdragon 7 Series Chipset Tipped

Performance-wise, the upcoming Honor Power is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 series chipset. While the exact model remains under wraps, this places the phone squarely in the upper mid-range category, offering a good blend of power efficiency and performance.

The device is also likely to support 80W wired fast charging, ensuring users won’t have to wait long to refuel the massive battery. This feature was hinted at through its recent appearance on China’s 3C certification website, as well as a listing in the MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) database, under the model number DVD-AN00.

Global Launch Possibility

While the launch is currently China-specific, the Honor Power handset could eventually make its way to global markets. This would mark an exciting addition to Honor’s international lineup, especially considering the rare battery capacity and impressive fast-charging speeds.

What Else Is Honor Working On?

Aside from the new Power series, Honor appears to be busy with several other projects:

  • Honor Magic V5 Foldable: Rumored to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (Elite SoC), the foldable might launch around May or June 2025. Interestingly, the company is expected to skip the Magic V4 and go directly to the V5.

  • Honor Play 60 and Play 60m: Recently launched in China, these phones come with MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoCs, 6,000mAh batteries, 6.61-inch HD+ 120Hz LCDs, and Android 15-based MagicOS 9.0. They cater to budget-conscious users and continue Honor’s strategy of offering solid specs at attractive price points.
