Recognition of 40 medical colleges of the country cancelled, 150 on radar, many of them from Punjab

New Delhi | The recognition of 40 medical colleges in the country that do not meet the standards has been cancelled, while 150 medical colleges are on the radar. The UG Board of the National Medical Commission had found flaws during the investigation in these medical colleges. Only after this their recognition was cancelled. The 40 medical colleges whose affiliation has been canceled so far are from West Bengal, Gujarat, Assam, Puducherry, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Tripura. Other medical colleges are also being investigated. If the medical college wishes, it can appeal to the National Medical Commission within 30 days from the cancellation of recognition.
