Reliance Industries subsidiary Reliance is preparing to set up short-term lodging facilities such as hotels, resorts and service apartments near the Statue of Unity in Gujarat through an SOU. Reliance SOU company is also planning to develop lodging facility on houseboats.

The Statue of Unity is a 182-metre-tall statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, located on the banks of the Narmada River at Kevadia in the Narmada district of Gujarat. Not only India, lakhs of people from all over the world come to see it every year. One crore people have come to see it in the last 4 years. Reliance SOU expects good demand for hotels and resorts in Kevadia in coming days.

Tata Group’s Indian Hotel Company is already going to open Taj Vivanta and Ginger Hotel in agreement with Sardar Sarovar Narmada Corporation. Reliance Industries has formed Reliance SOU Limited (Arsol) on 23 February this year. Through this, Reliance intends to develop commercial property. This includes hotels and resorts. Through the new company, Reliance Industries will compete directly with companies like Adani Properties, Tata Realty & Infrastructure and Shapoorji Pallonji.
