Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently graced the 77th Locarno Film Festival held in Switzerland, where he was honored with the prestigious Pardo Alla Carriera Award. The award recognizes his outstanding contributions to cinema. During the event, Shah Rukh attempted to greet the audience in Italian, but his imperfect pronunciation added a touch of humor, winning the hearts of everyone present.

A video from the festival shows Shah Rukh Khan receiving the award on stage. As he thanked the audience, the entire venue erupted in applause and cheers. Shah Rukh then jokingly commented on the weight of the award, placing it back on the stand and eliciting laughter from the audience.

In an endearing attempt, Shah Rukh tried reading from a card to address the audience in Italian. His efforts, though not flawless, were met with smiles and laughter. The light-hearted moment further endeared him to the crowd.

Speaking about the atmosphere at Locarno, Shah Rukh remarked, “It’s a beautiful, cultural, artistic, and hot city. So many people gathered in one square; it feels just like home in India.” During his speech, a female fan in the audience loudly declared her love for him, to which Shah Rukh responded with an “I love you” in return. He humorously added that all romantic interviews would be conducted after the event, as the Locarno Film Festival was the place to sound intellectual.

Shah Rukh also praised the local cuisine, sharing that he was improving both his Italian language skills and his cooking, having learned how to make pasta and pizza. He even mentioned a few recipe names in Italian, showcasing his playful side. He then joked about a man on stage, General Azzaro, who had been trying to figure out his perfume all day by smelling him.

As a special tribute, Shah Rukh Khan’s 2002 film Devdas was screened at the festival, adding to the celebrations and marking a memorable occasion for both the actor and his fans.
