UPPCS Exam Postponed to July: Anticipated New Schedule Imminen

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has thrown a curveball to thousands of aspirants by postponing the Uttar Pradesh Combined State / Senior Subordinate Services Examination (UPPCS) just 10 days before its scheduled date. Originally slated for March 17, 2024, the UPPCS exam will now be held in July, according to an official announcement.

The sudden deferment has left candidates in a state of flux, with the commission offering little clarity on the reasons behind the delay. As per the official notification released by the UPPSC, the decision to postpone the exam was attributed to “unavoidable reasons,” but specifics were not disclosed. Moreover, no concrete date has been provided for the rescheduled examination in July, leaving candidates grappling with uncertainty regarding their preparation timelines.

The announcement, made via an official notice, stated: “With reference to the Combined State / Senior Subordinate Services (Pvt) Examination-2024 advertised under the Commission’s Advertisement No. A-1/E-1/2024 dated 01-01-2024, it is hereby informed that the examination in question will be conducted by the Commission on 17th March, It was proposed to be held in 2024, the said examination is postponed due to unavoidable reasons, the examination in question is likely to be held in the month of July, information about which will be given in due course of time.”

Meanwhile, in another setback to the recruitment process, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) recently cancelled the preliminary examination for the recruitment of review officer/assistant review officer (RO/ARO). Allegations of paper leak surfaced, prompting the cancellation of the exam, which was conducted across 2,387 centres spanning 58 districts in the state. A staggering 10,76,004 candidates had registered for the exam, vying for 411 vacancies.
