American plane crashes in Australia, 3 sailors killed, 20 injured

During a multinational training exercise, a US Marine Corps aircraft crashed on an island off northern Australia, resulting in the tragic deaths of three marines and injuries to 20 others. The incident occurred on Sunday morning, around 9:30 am local time. Out of the 23 soldiers on board, five were in critical condition and were immediately transported to the city of Darwin, which is approximately 80 kilometers away, for urgent medical treatment.
Northern Territory Police Commissioner Michael Murphy provided an update about six hours after the crash, stating that helicopters were utilized to transport the injured to the hospital in Darwin. The exact cause of the crash is yet to be determined, and investigations will likely be conducted to ascertain the factors that led to this unfortunate incident.
