Gold worth 47 lakh was being hidden in private parts, caught at Amritsar airport

Amritsar – The Customs Department in Amritsar has seized 778 grams of gold, valued at approximately INR 47.45 lakh, from a passenger arriving from Sharjah at Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport. The gold has been confiscated and further action is underway. According to a spokesperson for Customs, the Indigo-6E1428 flight arrived late in the evening on Thursday. Passengers were initially screened, but no contraband was found. However, based on suspicion, the luggage of a particular passenger was searched, but nothing was discovered. When questioned further, the passenger eventually admitted to carrying the gold.
