Punjab: 6.45 lakh cheated in the name of sending abroad

The Mataur police station has taken action against two individuals, Gurpreet Singh and Jasleen alias Prabhjot Kaur, who are accused of defrauding a sum of 6.45 lakhs from a complainant named Niranjan Singh. The accused are the owners of Redvision Immigration Consultant Company, situated in Phase-7. According to the complaint lodged by Niranjan Singh, a resident of Patiala district, he approached the company on 23rd November 2021 to seek assistance in sending his daughter, Jasveer Kaur, abroad. Over a period of time, the company collected a total of Rs 6.45 lakhs from Niranjan Singh for various services related to the process.
However, as time passed, Niranjan Singh became concerned about the progress of his daughter’s visa application. When he inquired about it, the accused individuals began avoiding his questions and failed to provide any satisfactory answers. Despite the passage of six months, neither did they send Jasveer Kaur abroad nor did they return the money they had received from Niranjan Singh. Frustrated by this situation, Niranjan Singh decided to file a complaint against the company with SSP Mohali. Consequently, the police conducted an investigation into the matter and subsequently registered a case against the accused individuals.
